AMD confirms that it will not block mining on its graphics cards

AMD has no plans to reduce the processing power of its graphics cards to protect against mining. Representative of the company stated that the owners of AMD video accelerators can use their power at their discretion. Thus, the possibility of reducing the hash rate on AMD video cards was ruled out.

AMD’s product manager noted that the Radeon RX 6700 XT graphics accelerator is not the best option for mining cryptocurrency. He explained that this graphics card is designed for maximum gaming performance.

According to him, this can be achieved using Infinity Cache technology, which reduces the bandwidth limitations of the video memory subsystem. It also reduces delays and reduces electricity consumption. Specialist added that in mining, these additions will not have a significant effect.

Recall that Nvidia has halved the hash rate of GeForce RTX 3060 video accelerators. So it tried to reduce the demand for them among miners.
