The draws of the national digital currency have already been held in six cities of China: Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Suzhou, Chengdu and Changsha.
The total amount raffled among Chinese residents in testing the digital Yuan has increased to $ 39 million. This happened after the Shanghai authorities handed out digital yuan worth $ 3 million to the townspeople. Draws of the national digital currency (CBDC) were already held in six cities of China: Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Suzhou, Chengdu and Changsha.
In early June, the Beijing authorities announced a $ 6 million digital Yuan giveaway among residents of the Chinese capital. Registration for the raffle has expired on June 7th.
Testing of the digital Yuan in China began in October 2020. The national digital currency can be spent at one of several thousand outlets participating in the testing project, but cannot be transferred to another person or withdrawn to a bank account.
