Crimea can introduce its own cryptocurrency

Crimea will be able to bypass currency and banking restrictions if a blockchain cluster is created on the peninsula, told RIA Novosti the vice-premier of the Crimean government – the permanent representative of the Crimea under the President of the Russian Federation Georgy Muradov.

According to him, at the IV Yalta International Economic Forum (YIEF) in April, ways of getting out of the financial blockade of the Crimea from the West and liberation from dollar and euro-dependence were discussed.
“There was an idea of creating a blockchain-cluster in the region with a conditional name” Cryptocrym “, said Muradov.

The main task of the new cluster can be the organization and regulation of a unique infrastructure for the development of high-tech projects in the Crimea from around the world. He explained that it was a question of creating an investment fund in cryptocurrencies and a crypto exchange. In addition, within the framework of the forum the issue of creating equipment for blockchain technologies and cryptocurrency production in the Crimea was discussed, which is especially advantageous for potential investors in similar projects taking into account the preferences of the Crimean free economic zone.

According to him, if it succeeds in creating a blockchain cluster, Crimea can bypass currency and banking restrictions. “Of course, all this will give an additional impetus to the development of the economy of the region as a whole,” Muradov said. Source:
