The Turkish national cryptocurrency testing should be carried out in the next year, said president Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The corresponding instruction was given to the national government; The Central Bank of the country and the Turkish Council for Scientific and Technical Research will also take part in the project.
The document states that testing of the digital asset should be completed at the end of next year. At the same time, it is planned to develop software for instant payments based on the future national cryptocurrency.
“The main task is to create a financial structure with a powerful institutional model that can meet the financial needs of the real industry, while having low operating costs and including tools for a wide range of investors” the publication says and emphasizes that Istanbul intends to become attractive global financial center in the near future, using innovative technologies.
We add that earlier the Turkish authorities submitted a development plan for the “Strategy 2023”, which notes that blockchain is considered as the most priority direction for the development of the technology industry.
