Telegram intends to challenge the ban on Gram cryptocurrency by the US Securities and Markets Commission. The founder of the messenger Pavel Durov filed a lawsuit on November 12. In a statement, he claims that their future product is not a security, but a currency that does not fall under securities laws.
Earlier in the United States, they filed a lawsuit against Telegram for the company attracting more than one and a half billion dollars to conduct an ICO – that is, issuing cryptocurrency to pay for site services in the future – and did not register its placement.
In October, the court adjourned the lawsuit until February, but upheld Telegram’s temporary ban on launching Gram and the TON blockchain platform, which the American exchange regulator sought.
