Japanese messenger app LINE launches cryptocurrency exchange on its platform

The Japanese messenger application LINE announced the official launch of its own cryptocurrency exchange, which will serve 81 million users of the platform.

According to the announcement, the exchange will be called Bitmax. It will allow customers to trade five cryptocurrencies in real time: ETH, LTC, BTC, XRP and BCH. Access to the platform can be obtained through the “Wallet” tab in the LINE mobile application, which customers can use to deposit and withdraw payments.

LINE declares that it wants to increase the convenience of connecting users to the cryptocurrency trading process and plans to make the existing messenger application a “smart portal” for cryptocurrency exchange. The company says Japan is committed to cashless payments in society and sees the cryptocurrency industry as “an industry to meet the new needs of users” with the potential for next-generation technological innovation.

LINE also emphasizes the safety of users on its platform as a priority:

“LINE was one of the most serious investors among security companies in Japan’s Internet business. BITMAX also takes this approach, offering users a reliable and stable service that prioritizes security above everything else.”
