Konami CEO talks about plans for NFT

Konami Digital Entertainment CEO Hideki Hayakawa has confirmed that the gaming giant plans to release its own collection of non-fungible tokens (NFT). He noted that the launch of the Castlevania franchise will be an important milestone in the company’s development.

Earlier it was reported that the auction will be launched on January 12, 2022. Within its framework, the so-called boxes will be sold. Each of them will contain 1 of 14 tokens, as well as a variety of audio files and posters with memorable moments from old Nintendo games.

Hayakawa revealed that he is delighted that his organization will provide fans with the opportunity to purchase Castlevania 35th Anniversary NFT digital art.

He also talked about cooperation with the OpenSea trading platform, on which the sale will be held. The entrepreneur noted that this event is very important for fans of video games, as the launch of the tokens pays homage to the franchise, which appeared as much as 35 years ago.

Nevertheless, in the future, the company’s management plans to seriously engage in the development of NFTs, which will become an important part of video games. Now Konami experts are carefully analyzing this market and trying to find the best options for implementing their own ideas.

However, Hayakawa said that it is too early to talk about any prospects for the company in this industry. Cryptocurrencies and NFTs are of great interest to Konami and are the future of video games, but this aspect remains to be seriously sorted out.
