New Zealanders and Australians will be able to buy Coca-Cola for bitcoins

Coca-Cola Amatil, a vendor of vending machines for selling soft drinks in the Asia-Pacific region, has entered into a partnership agreement with Centrapay, a startup that provides a merchant system.

Thanks to the collaboration, Coca-Cola consumers in New Zealand and Australia will be able to use the SyloSmartWallet application in any of Amatil’s 2000+ vending machines to purchase drinks through cryptocurrencies using a smartphone’s camera to scan a QR code.

SyloSmartWallet is a decentralized mobile application that combines a messenger with a cryptocurrency wallet that supports the main digital assets, including bitcoin and tokens created on the basis of the ERC-20 protocol.

The new digital option aims to solve hygiene problems in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, as customers only need to touch the vending machine once to complete the purchase.

“At Centrapay, we are working to create a future where people will control their own data and digital identity. Companies can communicate directly and ethically with customers, enabling them to make the right purchasing decisions while supporting their retailers and other distribution partners. ” – said Centrapay CEO Jerome Forey.

Recall last fall, the technology company CokeOneNorthAmerica began using the blockchain system developed by the SAP software development studio to track the supply chain.
