Sega has partnered with blockchain firm

In addition to game studios, Double Jump Tokyo has already partnered with Bandai Namco. Last year, the company helped Square Enix launch their first Million Arthur NFT collection.

Sega is the first company to develop a blockchain-based game.

Sega has partnered with blockchain firm Double Jump Tokyo to create a new installment in the Sangokushi Taisen series. The game will utilise blockchain technology, but specifics about how it will work are unknown yet.

A real-time strategy game set during the Three Kingdoms period featured in Luo Guanzhong’s Romance of the Three Kingdoms is played on arcade machines. However, a physical card deck is used. Blockchain technologies may be used to identify the card’s owner.

Sega has registered a NFT trademark in January, but each time a company like Konami announces using the blockchain in a project, the players are outraged. On the other hand, Konami and Atari are already planning to utilise the blockchain.
