Since 2016, the number of Bitcoin ATMs has grown by 500%

Cryptocurrency kiosks are becoming increasingly popular, the number of bitcoin ATMs is also is growing – since 2016 their number has increased by 500%.

According to Coin ATM Radar, the number of bitcoin ATMs has been increasing over the past three years, despite fluctuations in cryptocurrency prices. The site estimates the total number of Bitcoin ATMs as 5,500 devices worldwide, which indicates an increase of 500%.

One Twitter user suggested that rising numbers indicate high demand.

Despite the fact that ATMs are less profitable than digital currency exchanges with their commissions, which they can reach 15%, sometimes they can provide a fairly stable income. The fact is that users increasingly use kiosks while traveling.


According to Coin ATM Radar, more than 550 operators manage bitcoin ATMs in 74 countries around the world. The largest number of devices is located in the USA – 3506, followed by Canada with 700 devices.
