Stellar begins collecting donations in response to the COVID-19 crisis

SDF – Stellar Development Foundation has announced the launch of a donation collection based on Lumenthropy – based on the Stellar blockchain.

The list of charitable organizations hosting Lumen includes Freedom of the Press, The Tor Project, UNICEF and others.

SDF CEO Daniel Dixon says the fund has been able to maintain stability during a period of uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 crisis. Consequently, they want to lend a helping hand to the communities by donating 2,500,000 XLM tokens during April.

SDF will launch this initiative by donating 100,000 XLM to six Lumenthropy-sponsored charities. Members of the Stellar community are invited to send their donations, which will be sent to the foundations.

“We believe that individuals who are able to and are trying to find different ways to help and support the worldwide society will come along” – said Dixon.

Numerous cryptocurrency companies have begun to fight the coronavirus. Earlier it became known that Ripple sent $ 200,000 to charity. A division of the most popular cryptocurrency exchange, Binance Charity, has launched the #CryptoAgainstCOVID campaign with a donation of $ 1,000,000.
