Representatives of the National Bank of Ukraine spoke about plans for the legalization of cryptocurrencies. The main goal of all future bills will be the legal protection of market participants. The NBU stressed that they will try to minimize the pressure on the industry.
Earlier, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted in the first reading a draft law on the transactions implementation with cryptocurrencies. The NBU stressed that in the document the coins are registered as one of the types of virtual assets. In the future, this will allow fixing all the costs of operations with cryptocurrencies at the legislative level. Also, if there are legal regulations, entrepreneurs will officially be able to work with digital assets.
Cryptocurrency laws will also enable the government to fight money laundering and terrorist financing. All investments will be made transparently. Consideration of the law on digital assets should continue in the second quarter of this year.
