On December 3, the Ministry of Digital Transformation announced the signing of a memorandum with the Belarusian cryptocurrency exchange Currency.com. This is the first regulated cryptocurrency trading platform in the region. Therefore, the Ministry plans to use its achievements in the framework of improving Ukrainian legislation in the field of IT and cryptocurrencies.
Together with Currency.com representatives, the Ministry of Digital working group will create bills to regulate the industry.
In the development of the domestic IT-market, the Republic of Belarus is showing great success. The more we study the experience of this country, the deeper we understand how much work has been done and what results have been achieved. We are pleased to work with the Currency.com team to develop Ukrainian legislation – Alexander Bornyakov, Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine said.
As an example of successful interaction between the state and IT business in Belarus, they cite the High-Tech Park. This platform is designed to create comfortable conditions for Belarusian companies involved in software development. And also contribute to the growth of the country’s economy competitiveness. This model can be partially adopted by Ukraine to stimulate the national IT sector.
So, the adviser to the Supervisory Board of the park Nikolai Markovnik noted that in 2019, the organization can bring $ 2 billion in revenue. Of these, $ 350 million of taxes will go to the budget of Belarus. In the case of Ukraine, indicators can be several times higher.
